My Love

Never shall you be alone, my love.

For you were created by me, my love.

You are apart of me, my love.

In sadness, in happiness, and fear, in faith,

I am here, with you, my love.

I’ve watched you, from brith, till death,

from one life time, and to the next, my love.

Making mistakes, passing through lessons, discovering who you are, my love.

And when you call upon me, I hold you up, my love.

Never stray from me, my love, for I created you, in my image, in my heart,

with every capacity, every ability to create the life you desire, my love.

And look upon this world, my love…  So many people, so many faces, so many hearts, waiting for you my love.

Waiting for the someone to guide them from darkness, and into the light, and back to me, my love.

So raise your head my love, dry our tears my love, fill your heart with my courage, and be the person you were meant to be, here on Earth…  My Love!

Relying on Your Higher Self

Yesterday was a particularly hard day…  I had gone three days with barely any sleep.  My two year old son was having trouble sleeping, for what ever reason.  He was waking up every hour, asking for mommy to come comfort him.  So, yesterday was a very emotionally drained day.  I felt lost in emotion and reacted negatively to many situation, especially my children, and the mess in the house.

It wasn’t till later that day, that I began to feel better.  I was at the book store, and just let my heart search for a book.  It led me to a book called, “Opening to Channel, How to Connect With Your Guide.”

I had planned on reading a few pages, just to get an idea of what this book was about.  But an hour later, I was still reading, and I felt like this book was talking directly to me.  I put the book down and decided to connect to my guide, my higher self.  I felt almost pulled into a trance, and internally I asked the questions I really needed answers to.  And I  heard the answers gently coming to me.

Even this morning I did the same thing, and once again the answers came clearly.

I am reminded of how easy it is to get caught up in the daily life.  We all have a to do list, we have relationships, we have hobbies, and so on.  These things take our constant attention, and we can forget to connect daily to our higher self.  My higher self reminded me, “It’s so important to connect to my Guide daily, as this is what keeps me on course, and keeps me on the highest path possible, in all areas of my life.”

I also realize that our children are so much more on point with their higher self, than most adults are.  I am reminded to learn from my children, and not to be scared of raising them completely different than the current norm advices.  As we can see…  the norm is changing, and the norm is not so happy, or successful.  Instead I should be braver, and guide my children according to their higher needs, and passions.

If you are seeking a path to connect with your guides, or your higher self, I highly suggest you pick up this book.  It has made such an impression on me, and I’m sure you will find the same.  I love books that really stand out, that teach me something very tangible that I can apply to my life, and I see this clearly in this book.

Much love to all of you,

Guru Shakti

Being A Mother To Humanity

How has time passed so swiftly, these little feet have grown so big now, these hands were so tiny.  I find motherhood one of the most wonderful, and most challenging things I’ve ever done.  It brings me to laughter and tears faster than anything in my life.

As mothers we wonder, “Is this the right step, am I doing the best i can for my children?”

But what is mothehood?  Lately I’ve been feeling that mother hood is so much more than caring for our own children.  There are billions of people on this planet, so many people who are yearning for mother, for that unconditional motherly love.

When I see a poor man on the streets, lost in sorrow, I know he didn’t have that motherly love, for no man or woman could end up like this, when surrounded by a mothers love.

There is a young girl who lives in our neighborhood, she is alone a lot.  She is an only child, her mother travels all the time for work, her father stays home, but sends her out all day.  She knocks on our door about three times a day, and I see her wondering the neighborhood a lot.

To be honest I found her to be one of the most difficult children, and doesn’t listen very well.  I felt irritated that she would knock on the door all the time.  But then I realized, she is a child, a child who is lonely.  I began to work on myself internally, to be patient with her.  I have begun to look at her as my own child.

As women, one of the most healing actions we can take, is to embrace the Mother within each of us.  Being a Mother has little to do with giving birth, because even women who have never given birth are still Mothers.  God gifted us as creators, we have the ability to make miracles with our love, with our understanding, with our patiance.

There is a whole planet awaiting the wise adults to take back the leadership.  So why not be apart of it in the most natural way, by being a mother to all of humanity, one person at a time.

This means…  accepting yourself, accepting each person for who they are, and for who they yearn to be.

This means…  forgiving the actions of those who know not what they do.  In most cases it’s adult children, people that look like adults on the outside, but are very much children on the inside.

This means… Knowing that God sent you here for a reason, you are a women, you are special, and you can make miracles with your motherly way.

Let’s do this together, in our daily lives, and heal the world in our own way.

Love you my dear Sisters!

Learning The Way of The Eagles

“Woman must grow from Chicks, and into Eagles.”  -Yogi Bhajan

As you begin to trust in your intuition, and trust whole heatedly that you are a wonderful and wise mother,  you will sense the the right moments to challenge your children in a way that will help them grow.

We can learn a great deal from Mother Eagles.  A Mother Eagle, by instinct, knows exactly when to begin teaching her young to fly.

Baby eagles learn to fly primarily by observing their parents. To encourage young eagles who don’t show an interest in flying, the parents sometimes fly around the outside of the nest with food in their claws to coax them to fly.  While food is a great motivator, the young eagles are curious about the world and like to imitate their parents. By perching on a nearby limb with a choice meal, the eagle parents are encouraging their young one’s sense of curiosity until the young eagle begins to leave the safe environment of the nest on its own.

Over the past year, my own confidence has grown.  It’s much easier to sense those areas where my children need to have challenge put upon them, by myself or my husband.

And just like the Mother Eagle whom coaxes her young to fly, here’s two examples of how we have coaxed our children to progress in their lives.

My husband and I practice Kundalini Yoga daily, we do it to balance ourselves inside and out.  For years I felt confused about my approach I should take with our children.  I knew we wanted out kids to practice yoga, not for fun, not for entertainment, but to master their lives.  I felt scared to push them, and as a result of that, the minute they showed any signs of not wanting to do  yoga, I quickly gave in and said they didn’t have to do it.   Not now…   I discovered that I am the mother, it is up to me to show them, and teach them, that yoga is a daily practice, and it’s just as important as brushing your teeth every single day.

I notice that they are enjoying their yoga practice much more now, and they put up very little resistance to me now.  When I say, “Ok kids, time for yoga practice,” they get to it, instead of arguing with me.  I’ve decided that this is the standard in our home, no getting around it.

The same goes with meals.   No longer are their meals served in front of the T.V.  I saw that our children were staring into the T.V. like Zombies, and over eating.  Being a woman that has recovered from Bulimia, It is essential to respect food, and eat like a Queen.  I want that for our kids too.  When it’s time to eat, all electronics go off, and we sit at the table, or they don’t eat.  I notice we don’t over eat, we lovingly eat our meals, we connect, and we all  enjoy it.

Believe me when I say they didn’t want to turn that T.V. off.  We all enjoyed tuning into a good show after a long day.  But every time I turned on that T.V. while eating a meal, I could hear my intuition yelling for me to turn the damn thing off.  Now the connection we are gaining from being together at a dinner table is priceless.  The T.V. can go on after dinner time!!!

I think as women it’s easy to ignore our intuition,  our intuition tries to tell us it’s time to push down upon our children, and help them to fly in different areas of their lives.  Remember you are Mother, you are the primary teacher to your children, don’t be afraid to challenge them, and of course do it with the intent to honor and encourage them.

Guru Shakti

Faithing Your Mission

“Life Takes Courage, it takes Faith, it takes stepping out into the un known, trusting you will arrive at your destiny.”

-Guru Shakti

You have a purpose, you were born exactly how you were meant to be, and each relationship and experience is perfect for your growth.  When you look into your heart, what do you see?  What is your purpose in this life time?  What is your destiny?  Your path is different than mine, different than your parents, different than your best friends, and that is what makes you unique.

Once you discover what that path is, it can be easy to quiver away from it.  It’s easy to distract yourself from really full filling your purpose because it’s scary to step out into the un known and try new things.  It’s scary to do something different!

Bottom line…  It’s ok to be scared, it’s all a part of growing.  The fear just means you are growing, and you are paying close attention to what you are doing.  Don’t use the fear as a gauge, or a guide.  Instead know that the fear has a message to deliver, get the message and continue forward.

Do you think it was all roses when I began home schooling our kids, or when I began healing from Bulimia, or when I began writing this blog, or when my husband quit his 9 to 5 job to begin our business, when I began wearing head wraps and turbans, or when I began practicing Kundalini Yoga every single morning?  NO WAY, it was scary at times, it was hard as hell sometimes, but it was also bliss full and wonderful too.

Now years later my path is so much clearer and it’s easier to faith my mission!

When you look around at anyone who has fullfilled their destiny, we see stories of overcoming obstacles and striving for what they believe in.  People like Nick Vujicic: a man with no limbs who teaches people how to get up, After being imprisoned for 27 years, Nelson Mandela led South Africa to becoming a multi- racial democracy in 1994, Mother Teressa was a Humanitarian who devoted her life to helping the poor, sick and orphaned in India. She devoted her life to God, Audrey Hepburn was an actress and humanitarian best known for such movies as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Roman Holiday,Sabrina,Funny Face and My Fair Lady. She devoted a great amount of her life working for UNICEF as a Goodwill Ambassador, and John Lennon was a famous English musician ,singer, songwriter and founding member of the Beatles, one of the most successful bands in history.

Think about the people who inspire you, perhaps you could even put pictures of them up as a constant reminder of why you will be courageous and why you will faith your mission.  Remember you were born by no accident, you are a beautiful part of this world, so let  your true self shine!

Finding Balance As A Woman

Women need real moments of solitude and self-reflection to balance out how much of ourselves we give away. Barbara De Angelis quote

Hello my dear Sisters,

I have written before on the topic of balance in our lives, but this is a topic that needs some steady reminding.  As women we give so much of ourselves, we play multiple roles, and this is all by design.  I wouldn’t have it any other way, I’m wife, I’m mother, I’m Daughter, I’m Sister, I’m Teacher, I’m Artist, I’m Ancient Yogi, and the list goes on.

Each one of us has responsibilities that are important and must be tended to, but what about those responsibilities that are important but weigh on your own personal time?  Lately my heart has been trying to remind me that I need more time to myself.  We have a 2 year old son, he’s so wonderful, so energetic, so curious, and such a night owl.  Some nights I do all I can to get him to sleep on time and then 11:30 pm roles around and he’s just beginning to nod off.  For me this has been causing havoc on my morning Sadhana.  This may sound like an excuse to some people but only getting three hours of sleep a night doesn’t work for me, especially when I need to be fully energized for my two other children whom are both home schooled by myself.

“Ahhhh the wonderful balancing act of a woman!”  I know this is my own situation that needs some new ideas, and I know I have these answers within myself.

As you read my own story I’m sure you can relate.  Perhaps you have an area of your life that needs some new ideas.  Perhaps you can see the need for more time for you to recharge.  It’s all about a balance, and the great news is a new balance can be established at any moment.

Just off the top of my head I can see some new options for myself.  I could make sure he runs around outside enough so he will be even more tired, I could pardon myself and do a shorter Sadhana until he is through this stage, I could do meditation when he naps instead of cleaning house, and I could ask other Yoginis what they have done in these situations.

(Skip Forward a day) After writing this post I decided to give it a day until I finished it. I took to heart the things that I wrote about, and I came up with new ideas that could work. That evening I took my son out to play for an hour, he ran around, he burned off some energy. That evening he fell asleep at 9pm, that’s still a bit late but better than midnight! That evening I did a guided meditation and fell right to sleep, and I was able to wake up and do my full Sadhana. I feel so much better today.

You see this just goes to show, there’s always other options, we just have to tap into our knowing and find them. And it’s absolutely essential for us ladies to have our own time, time of worship, time to take care of our physical body, time to do the creative things we love, and from that time you will have all the energy, and all the grace you need for your life.

Raising Children And Raising Our Future

Today we spent a wonderful afternoon at the park, the sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the smell of Spring filled the air!  I felt inspired and full of hope.  In a distance I watched my children play and enjoy themselves.  They played make believe, went down slides, went on the swings, and relished in the sunshine.

As I watched them play I reflected on my role as Mama, and my commitment to educating and helping them grow.  No one gives us a instruction book on raising kids but if we look inside ourselves for the answers, your own personal answers will be clear.

I’ve learned, when confusion or doubt over come me, I do my best to focus on my heart.  I breath into my heart and ask for clarity.  In raising children this is so powerful.  For instance…  When I was deciding what kind of education to give our children, I felt so confused and unsure of myself.  But then I decided I needed to come up with our own recipe, the recipe for education that worked for our family.  I spent a lot of time in meditation and the answer was clear.  We were going to be a home schooled, Unschooled family.  Of course we are always learning and shifting things, but the clarity of home schooled family was perfect for us.

You see our children are our future, they are the next generation who will be responsible for the care of our planet, and the care of each other.  And as our population grows and we move into the Aguarian Age, it’s up to us wise Adults, to embrace this kind of clarity.  And as a direct result, we will be teaching our kids to do the same.

“So when in doubt, or confused, look inside and find clarity”

Be Who You Were Born To Be!

We come into life with a double standard.  Our lower leg represents this standard, the lower leg has two bones, and it holds you up in life.  One standard is what the world will want you to be.  The other standard is what you came here to be.  And you spend much of your life negotiating that standard.  “Do I become what the world wants me to become, or do I become what I was sent here to become?”  And if you become who you were sent here to be, you don’t become it at all, you just be it.”

But you have to accommodate the world to a  point because it’s a social enterprise, and there are people in your life that you need to take into consideration.  How much do you accommodate others, and in that accommodation how graceful are you?  The more graceful you are in your daily life will make your life, and your relationships go much smoother.  In a state of grace you can be who you were meant to be and still accommodate the world to a point.

So consistently you must balance this.  Those who don’t balance this, for the most part, are either one of two extremes, Brut or Slave.

Brut consciousness is very successful at times, very disliked most of the time.  For instance, you may know of a very successful person that is very disliked.  A Brut brings their standard, but ignores all other standards.    The other extreme is called slave.  You are consistently viewing who you are communicating with, to determine their approval of you.  You never want to get into a place where you have to actively seek approval from others.   Never get into a place where you have to prove yourself.  “We are not here to prove ourselves, we are here to improve ourselves.”

This is such a valuable lesson to remember every day.  In my own life I try to be conscious of how I am being.  Am I being how everyone else wants me to be, or am I being true to myself.  I know from experience, trying to gain everyones approval will only leave you tired and sad.  There is simply no way to make everyone happy, and we do it at what cost?

But remember, being who you were meant to be takes guts.  It’s much easier to go with the flow, to just fit in to what others want of you.  But that is no life at all, it’s a slave to others expectations.  So be brave, be bold, be honest with yourself, and choose to be you!

Meditation To Know Your Truth!

Hello my dear friends,

The past few days I have begun a 120 meditation.  This meditation  will give you the ability to be able to experience the unseen.  It’s nice and easy but it gives you that ability not to be lost in the, “I don’t understand,”  you will feel that peace in your heart.

Please join me in this 120 day commitment.  It’s 11 minutes out of your whole day.  If you can’t find 11 minutes out of 24 hours in a day for yourself then you need to re evaluate your priorities.  This meditation is very calming, it brings you a sense of peace, of understanding, and of knowing.

Do this for 120 days and you will tap into this ability very powerfully.

Here’s a link to Gurmuks weekly message.  At the end of the message she explains how to do this 11 minute meditation.

Why Is Kundalini Yoga So Special?

My family and I truly love Yoga, but for our family Kundalini Yoga is our Yoga of choice.  After studying other kinds this type of yoga has benefited our growth like none other.  It holds that special place in our hearts.

So the question is, “Why is Kundalini Yoga so special?”

It may be considered, however, that Kundalini Yoga, which was kept secret for a long long time, does hold most of the keys to Yoga on the whole. It is seen as the most integrated of all Yogas from which all other Yogas have sprung from, which is why it is known as the ‘mother of all Yogas’.

More than any of the reasons to practice Kundalini Yoga, it works on strengthening and awakening your spine and your central nervous system to awaken the Kundalini energy, known as the nerve of your soul. This is the real reason why we do Yoga, and this is what no other Yoga will make clear to you, but it is where all Yoga eventually leads to. Why wait!. Within you in a vast  and largely untapped reserve of energy (at the base of your spine) that is waiting to be rediscovered by you. When released it will  give you the energy and creativity to do everything you have ever dreamed of and more. You simply will not believe how differently, how positive, how proactive and creative you start to be in your life once your life force returns (Kundalini) from the day Kundalini Yoga takes root in your daily weekly practice.

In our family Kundalini Yoga has become a daily morning practice.  It’s simply a part of our lives, just as important as brushing our teeth. Kundalini Yoga is so effective, and you will achieve real results very fast! It is the most powerful form of Yoga.

Now days you can buy yoga videos at local health stores, take a yoga class in your home town, pick up a good book, but my personal favoroteit is the practice of Guru Singhs recorded Kundalini Yoga classes.  Guru Singh is a Master of Kundalini so he knows what he’s doing.  I love how he guides you through each pose, telling you what each pose is doing for you.  He encourages us to keep up by reminding us not too just do what’s easy.

Here’s a link to  his site, you can sign up for his pod casts and get monthly yoga sessions sent to you.  When I get a new yoga session I work on it all month to master it, you could do the same.
